Dear Virginia Press Association Members,
We have been closely monitoring developments in the coronavirus crisis. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has stressed the importance of social distancing to prevent the spread of the virus within the community.
The VPA office has a small staff and each member is essential to the daily operation of the association. We have decided, like many of our member newspapers, to implement social distancing within our workplace to protect employees and ensure that the core functions of our operation remain uninterrupted.
Beginning March 17, and until we communicate otherwise, all VPA employees will begin working from home as much as possible. We will have limited staff in the office Monday through Friday, and our building access is limited to employees.
You will be able to reach us by phone during normal business hours at (804) 521-7570, or by sending emails to individual staff members.
In the meantime, as the situation evolves, we will look for ways that can help you cover COVID-19 and share them with you. You can follow our Facebook page (@VirginiaPressAssociation) and Twitter account (@va_press_assoc) for up-to-date information as it becomes available.
