Style Weekly launches new podcast
Style Weekly has launched a new podcast centered on an infamous serial killer from Richmond in the 1980s.
The 10-part series,”Southern Nightmare,” launched last week with its first episode and will explore the case of the “South Side Strangler.”
The case was the first one in the U.S. to use DNA to catch a killer, according to Style. It also involved the murder of a then Style employee.
Henrico Citizen wins national award
Managing editor of the Henrico Citizen Patty Kruszewski has won a national communications award.
Kruszewski’s award in the 2018 National Federation of Press Women National Communications Contest for a feature story about a local firefighter that authored a book for his late son.
Daily Progress receives Oracle Award from BH
The Daily Progress was awarded the Peter Kiewit Chairman’s Oracle Award from BH Media for its coverage of the Aug. 12 Unite the Right Rally and its aftermath.
“While the world watched in horror, Progress reporters, editors and photographers acted with courage, clarity and professionalism,” the program for the awards read. “They produced compelling coverage, insightful commentary and iconic imagery worthy of a Pulitzer Prize.”
