Associate Art Director
Richmond Magazine seeks a creative and enthusiastic associate art director to work on editorial and client projects. The associate art director will take feature and department pages from conception to final PDF, and often online. The right candidate will have a passion for solid editorial design and visual storytelling, thoughtful typography and the ability to maximize the readers’ experience, as well as be deadline-driven and have the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Experience: Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 2-3 years experience and a high level of Mac proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign; design and art direction of editorial content; work with freelance photographers and illustrators; direction of photo shoots, and budget and deadline management. Some HTML and CSS experience is preferred. Video production, photography and/or illustration skills a plus.
