Reporter: Franklin News-Post
The Franklin News-Post seeks an enterprising journalist eager to make a difference in this bucolic community set in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. If you have a passion to find the story, an insistence on getting it right and an insatiable hunger for news, we might have a job for you. The News-Post is published twice a week in Franklin County, Virginia, as the newspaper of record in one of the state’s most unique places, serving three distinct markets. The county seat of Rocky Mount, where the newspaper is located and near the brand-new Harvester Performance Center, is an entertainment mecca. To the east, lies sparkling Smith Mountain Lake, a recreation hub and haven for retirees and weekenders alike. And to the west, there’s Ferrum, home of a private liberal arts college by the same name with an enrollment of approximately 2,000 students and an award-winning environmental science program. For night life beyond the Harvester and Rocky Mount, the City of Roanoke is just a 30-minute drive away. If you think this is the place for you, send a cover letter, resume explaining all your skills and three of your best clips to Lee Wolverton at firstname.lastname@example.org. The subject line should read: News-Post Reporter.
