Beth Meisner, editor of the York Town Crier and Poquoson Post, dies at 62
VPA / August 18, 2011Elizabeth "Beth" Gallagher Meisner, 62, owner and editor of the York Town Crier and Poquoson Post, died Aug. 4. A York County native, she became a part-time reporter for the newspaper in 1981, took ownership of it with her husband Wayne in 2000 and edited the paper for nearly 20 years. Meisner was also a strong supporter of community groups and causes. As her obituary noted, "She grew up in this community and no one knew the place better... she was very proud to have served so many people for so many years."
