Breaking news: Winchester Star reporter’s death investigated as homicide

Winchester Star reporter Sarah L. Greenhalgh has been confirmed as the victim discovered in a house fire and authorities are investigating her death as a homicide, according to a media release today from the Fauquier County Sheriff’s Office.

The cause and manner of death are pending final autopsy results.

An autopsy was performed today in Prince William County.

Greenhalgh was found dead Monday morning at her home in Upperville in Fauquier County after an off-duty firefighter driving along John Mosby Highway (U.S. 50) saw smoke about 8 a.m. and called 911.
