VPA Past President Terry Jamerson has been named vice president of community newspapers for the Virginia division of World Media Enterprises, Inc.

Jamerson has been with Media General, the previous owner of the newspapers, since 1995 as a group leader and publisher for the Lynchburg-Roanoke-Danville cluster of newspapers, websites and television stations. In addition, she previously held management positions in Media General newspapers in Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina and Florida. Jamerson has also been active in the community, serving on the boards of Centra Health, Inc., and Lynchburg College, and chairing the Central Virginia United Way.

“I am looking forward to working with Terry and feel fortunate to have someone with her knowledge of our newspaper markets and significant newspaper experience in senior level management positions,” said Doug Hiemstra, president and CEO of World Media Enterprises.
