Front-line editor

The Daily Press is looking for a front-line editor who practices watchdog journalism and understands how to develop stories for mobile, web and print.
If you see today’s multi-channel news challenges as opportunities, know how to use Twitter to connect with audience and sources, how to start a Facebook fan page and how to use search engine optimization to push a story, we want to hear from you.
This editor will lead and coach a team of reporters to produce timely, top-notch reporting, no matter what the medium. The ideal candidate will have at least three to five years’ experience supervising reporters, will be fluent in web and mobile reporting and will have worked as a reporter in a daily, high-profile beat.
We’re in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, known for its beaches, rivers and tourist and historical attractions, such as Busch Gardens, Colonial Williamsburg and Yorktown. Our community is widely known for its military bases and ties to NASA.
