The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree and at least two years reporting experience at a daily newspaper. This person will be tenacious and experienced in ferreting out information from officials and public records. The reporter will develop enterprise stories about issues and human-interest stories and put a human face on crime and safety.

The Virginian-Pilot is accepting applications for a transportation reporter to join a team of five other reporters and an editor. The position involves intensive coverage of transportation systems, including roads, mass transit and air service, in a competitive environment. The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree and at least five years reporting experience at a daily newspaper.

The Virginian-Pilot is seeking a page designer who can conceive and execute pages, and who can write display type, including headlines, promos and fact boxes.
