The Virginia Press Association roadshows concluded last week, after a series of four gatherings in Williamsburg, Lexington, Warrenton and Chatham (the one in Bristol was canceled for low participation). At each of the meetings, publishers and staff discussed VPA's current programs, industry trends, member needs and related issues.

Rockbridge Weekly sold to The News-Gazette Corp.
After "decades of spirited competition" in Lexington, Buena Vista and Rockbridge County, The News-Gazette Corporation announced on Tuesday, June 12, that it has bought the Rockbridge Weekly, effective immediately: http://www.thenews-gazette.com/. The Rockbridge Weekly published its final issue today, closing a 31-year run; read publisher Jerry Clark's farewell here: http://www.rockbridgeweekly.com/rw_article.php?ndx=24100.
